So, my journey began on a Monday, all assignments are done and the last things are somehow in the backpack. The trip to Cape town is a lit bit odd ... I have to go via train to Hanover, from there with a small plane to Paris, then with a bigger plane to Jobo(Johannesburg) and then I will change planes again to Cape town. From there I just need a taxi ride to my hostel. Lots of different types of vehicles and companies, but with some running and delays I made it all in time. I just want to make a note here ... the new Airbus A380 is such a enormous plane ... took a lot of time to board all the people ...
In Cape town I joined some friends and we will travel together with a rental car for two weeks. We meet at my hostel and made a plan for the next day. I had a look at ong street and the harbor before we visited Table Mountain, the towns landmark. Quiet often it is covered by clouds, but we were lucky. No clouds while on the top, so we had a great view and clouds overflowing the mountain during the way down. These overflowing clouds are quite popular for this mountain. In the evening we went to a lockout for the sunset and settled down in a bar with a native music band.
In South Africa is the traffic on the other side of the road ... on the wrong one, on the left one. It did take some days to get used to it (again, last time I did that experience in New Zealand). But surprisingly driving with a car was not that hard on the left handed side of the road. To be honest there has been some incidence while starting to drive again on a empty road ... I could hear a amused shout: What are you doing, go the left side! The other driver didn't do that mistake so often ...
So, there my next big journey began, 2 weeks of self driving with my friends and then going on a lit Safari in Krueger National Park.
I keep you posted.
